Zeta Lambda Chapter hosted our 2018 Spring Induction on Saturday, April 14th. at the Rustic Lodge in Indiana. There were 36 candidates who were inducted into the honor society and the 'Nursing Excellence Award' was given to Dr. Amy Labant. Mr. Scott Rhoades, MS, RN, President, Chief Nursing Officer, The Center for Aerospace Nursing Excellence was our inspirational guest speaker this year and presented on "Project Breckinridge – The Reduced Gravity Flight Research Experience.' A wonderful time was had by all.
The Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing's Zeta Lambda Chapter's 7th Annual Research Education Day was held on Wednesday, November 8th. on IUP campus. Our guest speaker was Dr. Elaine Little who shared her research entitled: 'An Investigation of the Most Influential Factors Predicting Nursing Students' Knowledge and Attitude Toward Older Persons.' Continuing Education Credits were awarded via AACN for our nurse attendees. In conjunction with this program, select poster presentations using qualitative, quantitative, evidenced based practice or concept analysis was displayed by students and faculty on the following theme: "Innovation in Practice & Education Environments." Over 180 students attended/ presented and a good time was had by all!
Two of our international students in the Master's Program, Fatimah Alhassan and Hanan Alshammari, received the Outstanding Poster Award at the Graduate Forum this year which is given to the top ranked poster in each college. Congratulatons Fatimah and Hanan!
