Zeta Lambda Chapter had its Spring Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 15th at the Rustic Lodge in Indiana, PA. Twenty-nine new members were inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing and our featured speaker was this years 'Nursing Excellence' Award winner, Dr. Susan Poorman. Dr. Poorman spoke on the importance of tests. It was a great way to spend part of the Easter weekend and a good time was had by all.
Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing's Zeta Lambda Chapter's 6th Annual Research Education Day was held on November 9th. on IUP campus. Our guest speakers were Dr. Taylor Edwards who presented her dissertation research entitled An Examination of Undergraduate Sophomore Level Nursing Students' Personal Reflection Ability Following High-Fidelity Simulation and Video Assisted Debriefing and Dr. Nicole Custer who presented her dissertation research entitled Test Anxiety and Academic Procrastination among Pre-licensure Nursing Students. Continuing Education Credits were awarded via AACN for our nurse attendees. In conjunction with this program, select poster presentations using qualitative, quantitative, evidenced based practice or concept analysis were displayed by students and faculty on the following theme: "Evidence-Based Practice to Support Student or Client-Centered Outcomes." Light refreshments were served. Approximately 30 students and faculty attended this event and planning for our 7th Annual Research-Education Day is well underway!
